The Colosseum is a massive amphitheater in Rome, Italy. The structure was built around 80-82 A.D., and could hold up to 50,000 spectators for gladiator fights and public spectacles such as mock sea battles or reenactments of famous military victories from Roman history. It looks amazing in photos but is even more breath taking in person.

The first beams of morning sunshine pour across the Chicago skyline and onto Lake Michigan. The Shedd Aquarium's glass walls reflect its surroundings like a mirror, illuminating the waters with an almost magical glow.

From my perch on the roof of buildings two stories high, I could see for miles across Lake Michigan. Sunbeams were already clambering over downtown skyscrapers and glinted off windows as if they had been recently polished. Night fell quickly in Chicago's late springtime—as it does all too often these days —and one by one lights flickered on until this cityscape was glowing like a jewel box set against an indigo sky with just enough clouds to catch starlight when night fully settled upon us.

I saw the northern lights over a pristine Icelandic lake. It was one of those rare moments where you feel like time has stopped and you are living in an alternate reality, filled with magic instead of mundane life problems.

If you like scenes out of a movie then you should absolutely visit the abandoned DC plane on the black beach at Sólheimasandur. This is a very unique location that is just out of this world. This plane is fully accessible as you can see my travel partner on top of it. Not something you get to witness every day for sure.
